Inspiring Hope Through Action: Dr. Jane Goodall in Taiwan 1996–2025 Exhibition

Inspiring Hope Through Action: Dr. Jane Goodall in Taiwan 1996–2025 Exhibition
Date: March 27, 2026 – April 12, 2026
Venue:National Taiwan Museum Nanmen Branch (The White Palace)
This exhibition, drawn from the commemorative book In the Name of Hope, traces her thirty-year relationship with Taiwan — eighteen visits, countless encounters, and the seeds she quietly planted on this island. It unfolds across three thematic chapters, guiding visitors from the first spark of curiosity, through the courage of long commitment, into hope as a way of
living.
The White Palace at National Taiwan Museum — with its timber roof, warm wood floors, and lush garden — offers the most fitting stage for a story about the bond between people and the natural world. We invite you to carry her unfinished journey forward, with hope.
Dr. Jane Goodall spent her life inspiring hope through action.
From her first steps into the forests of Tanzania in 1960 to decades of tireless advocacy around the world, Jane proved that every single person, every single day, can make a difference.
Her legacy continues with the ongoing research at Gombe, the community-led conservation program Tacare, the work of the sanctuaries Chimp Eden in South Africa and Tchimpounga in the Republic of the Congo, and the global Roots & Shoots program empowering young people to become involved in hands on programs for the community, animals and the environment.
In Taiwan, her legacy lives on through our Roots & Shoots initiatives, including the Wildlife Garden Project, Oceans Are Us initiative, Hope Box Program, R&S Eco-Art program, the Jane Goodall Sustainability Academy, the International Program for Sustainable Development, and the Siangshan Marine Education Center. Today, more than a thousand schools across Taiwan carry that legacy forward.
